The Rising Price of Beers seem to be coming to Portland
Bob F writes: "A $5 pint of beer can be nursed considerably longer than a $5 glass of wine."
Michael writes "I was at Belmont Station tonight and they were in the process of changing prices on MANY beers, for instance Jolly Pumpkin Fuego del Otono was going from 10.49 to 14.99, Dick's Grand Cru from 1.59 to 2.79...STEEP price increases. Be afraid, be very afraid... "Bob F writes again: "
Reminds me of the Carter years (pre bar coding). It was a period of high inflation. You sometimes found the store personnel were too lazy to remove a label when they were raising prices, so they just placed a higher priced label over a lower priced one."

Hey Editor -
I have noticed the price of beer going up. It really is not fair, I talked to my liquor store but about it and he says that there are a couple factors involved, the main thing being a shortage on the ingredients.
Oh well, it ain't going to stop me from enjoying.

I really enjoy your blog. I was curious if I could link to you and you could link to me? This might increase traffic on our blogs.
I just started my blog a week ago and I love what I am writing about. You have also given me some ideas, researching some beer news and what not. Check it out, www.beergazette.blogspot.com.

Beer and liquor prices in general seems to rise every year. My family used to own a liquor store. Even store owner hate price increases.
When beer prices in Colorado had a major in increase I stopped buying 12pcks and started drinking kegs. Luckily there are a lot of local breweries that sell kegs. It really does make a big difference in the wallet, unless you have friends that come over for the beer.
I rented from a company called CollegeKegerator.com. It costs me just over just over a dollar a day. I save at least that much in beer money.
